I was looking at the Wesleyan Churches resolution on Global Human Trafficking, and I have to say that I was shocked at the extensive use of this slavery. It’s not just slave labor and prostitution. They did their homework on the article. I wanted to show this because I know that guys have trouble with pornography in this media crazy world. I know that I have struggled with it in the past. Let this be a challenge to you. Imagine your mom, sister, or best friend that you feel like you would kill the man who violated her. Think of them being told of a hopeful job opportunity. Then imagine they have to be taken to another country and have been told that the documentation will be taken care of. But when they get there, they find out that they have NO documentation and are taken to a room and locked into the room. There is a camera and a stranger. You can do the rest in your head, but remember it’s someone you would protect with your life. I just wanted to give the guys another reason to stay pure. If you look at porn, you might be supporting the trafficking of human life. And do not forget that prostitution and strip clubs fall into the sexual potential for the trade.
As far as forced labor is concerned, it is just as evil as the sexual. There is no greater evil here. Both are unjust, oppressive, and unrighteous acts in the eyes of God. Think on these these thought while reading the following verses.
“Put away violence and oppression, and do what is just and right.” Ezekiel 45:9
“Do not envy the wicked, nor desire to be with them: for their minds devise violence, and their lips talk of mischief.” Proverbs 24:1
“They eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.” Proverbs 4:17
“. . . I hate a man’s covering himself with violence as well as with his garment,’ says the Lord Almighty. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith.” Malachi 2:16
